CAROLINAS FURY JOINS GLOBAL BASKETBALL
ALLIANCE FOR 2008 SEASON!
(Orangeburg, South Carolina) (January 04,
2008)- The Carolinas Fury, formerly the Orangeburg Krazy Kats, have been
accepted as a member of the GBA-the Global Basketball Alliance, LLC,
headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia.
”We were ready to continue to play in a semi-professional basketball league when
I was informed the GBA had restructured for the 2008 season and were seeking
teams in this region,” states the Carolinas Fury, LLC Principal. “It is
my opinion that the GBA and its Managing Member Don “Moose” Lewis have the best
developmental basketball league with the dollar value out there today. The GBA
is a league that truly cares for its teams, players, and the community they play
in. I was both surprised and pleased with what they had to offer and
particularly impressed with their profit sharing program for teams.
Teams in the GBA are regionalized and the schedule takes advantage of multiple teams in a division that drastically reduces travel. All teams play a twenty-four (24) game balanced schedule with games played predominantly on weekends and a one game championship between division winners. The season runs from May through July. Teams expected in the Fury’s division include Atlanta, Georgia; Fayetteville, North Carolina; Wilmington, North Carolina, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; and Hickory, North Carolina. The Fury will play their twelve (12) home games at the “Southern Gymnasium” in Orangeburg, South Carolina proper.
Says "TheFury" in closing, “With the rivalries in the southeast that we will have, I urge any player wishing to further his career and gain valuable experience to contact me. Any person who has a team or wants to fulfill their dream of sports team ownership in a league of talented players with sound management should inquire about joining the GBA-as long as they do not mind working hard.”

ABA EXPLORES SPRING MEN'S, WOMEN'S LEAGUES WITH GLOBAL BASKETBALL ALLIANCE
27-Dec-2007
Indianapolis, IN -- The American Basketball Association (ABA) has agreed in
principle with the Global Basketball Alliance (GBA) to explore the possibility
of creating both Men's and Women's Spring-Summer Basketball Leagues.
According to Joe Newman, ABA CEO, "The ABA has been approached many times about
adding new leagues; the men's league because there are many players interested
in competing and keeping in shape; the women's because there are many quality
women players not in the WNBA wanting an opportunity to play. We feel that the
ABA can support such an effort, but at this time, we cannot initiate the effort
to put it together."
"Moose Lewis, a well-known boxing and wrestling promoter, has been working on
the concepts and has created two entities, the Global Basketball Alliance (GBA)
and the Women's Global Basketball Alliance (WGBA)", added Newman. "And he has
recruited several teams already. We think an affiliation can be put together and
are exploring the possibilities of making this a reality in the upcoming 2008
season."
"I've known Joe for several years and I have great respect for the ABA and him,"
said Lewis. "We believe that with the ABA's support, we can put together two
very interesting leagues. Of course, we would play with the ABA rules which are
very unique, very exciting and make for more interesting games as well as use
ABA red, white and blue balls. We both believe in affordable, fan-friendly
professional basketball."
"I'm not sure if we can get it done for this season as we need several teams in
each region in order to control costs, but we are working hard to bring it to
completion. This is a great opportunity for individuals to test the waters of
owning a sports team at a low cost before moving up to own a team in the ABA. We
will be a true developmental league for owners, management, players and support
staff," added Lewis. "If you are interested, as a potential owner, coach or
player, please contact me as soon as possible at the following email or
telephone number - office@gbahoops.com
or (404) 808-9268."

The name has a great history and we plan to once again bring it back to its former prominence. Also, by partnering with MSNN, this will give the team licensees an additional revenue stream for their their basketball team and also to get paid for their game archives-not to mention that it allows players to showcase their ability and receive the opportunity to move up to a higher league and a more lucrative payscale. This is truly a winning day for all parties.”
